While Langston Hughes High School operates on a block schedule school day as a comprehensive high school, its non-traditional approach to educate students consists of pathways which are Work-Based Learning Program, Engineering, Healthcare Science, Fashion, Merchandising and Retailing Essentials, Information Support and Services, Financial Services, Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Automotive, Graphic Design and Programming. Langston Hughes High School Pathways provide all students with a challenging learning opportunity that will ensure they are prepared for an ever changing global society. All academic pathways are geared towards a rigorous "college prep" curriculum supported by engaging and relevant instruction. During the 2018-2019 Langston Hughes High School will turn into an Early College School. We also offer a host of Advanced Placement courses. Langston Hughes also host a Freshman Academy program, which offers a host of wrap around supports for our entering freshman. Last but not least through our Exceptional Education Services Program we support CBI, MOID and GNET's scholars.
Langston Hughes High School (LHHS), completed in May 2009, is the newest and largest constructed high school in South Fulton County. Located in Fairburn, Georgia, a suburb of metropolitan Atlanta, the school sits adjacent to Renaissance Elementary and Renaissance Middle Schools.
LHHS opened its doors in August 2009 to educate students in the southern portion of the Fulton County School System. Built to meet the needs of a rapidly growing community, this state-of-the art facility is home to grades 9-12 students with an enrollment of nearly 2200. Under the leadership of Dr. Michael H. Robinson, a distinguished faculty and staff has been assembled to serve the school community.
